This collectors' LP has live performances from a variety of Dixieland-oriented groups led by guitarist Nappy Lamare in September 1947. The overlapping bands feature such fine players as trumpeters Chuck Mackey, Johnny Windhurst and George Thow (Windhurst and Mackey work very well together on an extended version of "Wolverine Blues"), trombonists Lou McGarity, Bud Wilson and Joe Yukl (the latter is showcased on "Charmaine"), clarinetist Matty Matlock, pianist Marvin Ash, bassist Morty Corb, and Nick Fatool, Ray Bauduc or John Freeling on drums; tenor great Eddie Miller guests on "Peg O'My Heart," while Lamare sings "I'm Gonna Move to the Outskirts of Town." Despite a few odd splices that cut into an occasional chorus, this is an enjoyable set of swinging music.
