All of these 17 tracks bear the date 1966, but it's impossible to determine whether this is a reissue of a 1966 album or a compilation of material from that year; Polydor's nearly nonexistent liner notes are, as usual, resolutely unhelpful on the matter. At any rate, it's not up to the cream of her stuff, but those who want more than a greatest-hits collection should like this, particularly as only four of the songs are duplicated from her Polydor best-of (Poupee De Son). It's a vivacious, if sometimes vacuous, mix of bouncy schoolgirl cuts and melodic, melancholy tunes, occasionally within the same track (especially on "C'est Pas Facile d'etre Une Fille"). Read More
