A walk in the Park, Volume 265

DAILY WARDEN TRACK: Today’s song is from a band that I keep hearing may have a new album on the way very soon, but because they are so cryptic in all of their communications, it’s hard to tell whether or not that’s the truth.  Plus the fact that they are well-known pranksters, makes it hard to believe anything you hear about them until it actually happens.  I’m talking about TOOL, and I really do hope they have new material on the way, especially considering it’s been eight years since their last record, “10,000 Days.”  From their 2001 release, “Lateralus,” I give you two-tracks-in-one… Click that little triangle (the “play” button), and adjust your mood for “PARABOL / PARABOLA.”
Buy TOOL’s music via Amazon here.
Topic Of The Day: WHOSE COMEDY DO YOU PREFER, SETH MACFARLANE’S OR SETH ROGEN’S?  Two of the most anticipated comedies of the Summer are now in theatres - one of which is huge - the other not so much.  A few weeks ago, Seth Rogen’s “Neighbors” opened and it’s been a massive success so far.  This weekend Seth MacFarlane’s “A Million Ways To Die In The West” made its debut and it’s off to a terrible start, check the movie buzz here, then post your opinion on the official Park Warden facebook page.
WORLD CUP ONLY TWO WEEKS AWAY: If you’re a soccer / “football” fan, then you must be pumped up for the World Cup, beginning on June 12th in Brazil.  I was never a big soccer fan until 1998, when I started paying attention to the World Cup because I was in a draft / pool that year, and in 2006 I went to Germany for the tournament and was lucky enough to get into a game in Nuremburg; what an incredible experience!  Anyway, I have two links for you “footies” to check out… The first about the amazing journey of a Dutch fan (Hup Holland!) who drove his ’55 pick-up from San Francisco, California, to Brazil for this year’s festivities, here.  The second is about possible match-fixing that may have taken place at the World Cup in South Africa in 2010, here.
MYTHS YOU DISPEL IN YOUR 20′S: When you leave your teenage years behind it’s easy to think you’ve “made it,” when really, you’re just starting to arrive.  The 20′s are when people really start to grow, and that’s why I liked this article so much.  I’m 45 years old now, and looking back at my 20′s I laugh because I thought I knew so much, but I actually didn’t.  Check out some myths that people typically toss aside once they hit their 20′s, here.
BEER FOR SUMMERTIME SIPPING: If you like beer and you’re looking for a tasty brew for the upcoming swilling season, you may want to read the following article and then start your quest, here.
WATCH YOUR USE OF #HASHTAGS: If you are constantly using “hashtags” on every Tweet you compose, stop it!  It’s really annoying, and you should also be very careful about the hashtag itself, especially after reading about the latest backlash here.

Comic & Pop Culture Fest (May 31 – June 1), Drumheller DinoFest (June 13 – 15), Improvaganza (June 18 – 28), The Works Art & Design Festival (June 19 – July 1), Beaumont Blues & Roots Festival (June 20 – 22), Edmonton International Jazz Fest (June 20 – 29), Tail Creek Mud & Music Festival (June 27 – 29).
