SEXUAL HARASSMENT VIDEO PLAYED FOR GRADE 7 STUDENTS

TEACHER SUSPENDED

Education Minister Thomas Lukaszuk is angry with a St. Albert teacher under fire for showing his Grade 7 students a vulgar YouTube sexual harassment video (BELOW)

The St. Albert teacher has been suspensed until January.
Both the teacher and School Board have obtained lawyers.

As of Wednesday, no complaints have been issued to the Alberta Teachers Association....However, if those parents saw the video....they might think otherwise...It is infact inappropriate.

Lukasak says "We have to protect our children from this kind of stupidity. I want my kids to go into school to learn to read, to write ... I don't want them to go and be subjected to this kind of sexually explicit material."

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

WOW that is a completely offensive video. I am all for teaching children about sexual harassment, how it is inappropriate, and what to do if it occurs, but this video is not the way to do it!
This St. Albert teacher could have used different methods or something approved by the school/ATA.

I'm not even upset more impressed with the balls of this teacher, for one this video is off ebaums world a site primarily dedicated to comical videos, discussions, pictures and online games. Although the content was somewhat innapropriate you have to ask your self what kind of video games are these kids playing, the movies children have access to these days, how many of these kids have Internet at home and no how to delete the history, with all the de sensitization our 21st century generation has been exposed to you would think that we would stop being so shocked when stuff like this happened. The teacher may have had a momentary lapse in judgement when it came to this video and probably saw it having more of a comical reaction rather than an offensive one. The way people have been talking about this it's as if he was showing soft core porn to these kids, people need to stop being so worried and if you really want to combat situations like this then perhaps you should talk to your children and help them comprehend things like this rather than leaving the judgement of one individual sway the morale thoughts of your children.

I understand that it is explicit, however, at the age group this teacher showed it to actually was appropriate. Have you heard what these pre-teens have been saying to each other in their own text messages? Have you seen the pictures they send each other? Do they know what is out there in the employment world; in real life? Do they know it is wrong?
Until they stop watching R-rated movies and playing R-rated games in our R-rated world, Mr. Lukaszuk, get out of the 80's and teach these kids while they are still impressionable enough to learn it!

The teacher in my opinion did NOT do his homework, a more appropriate video would have been one MADE BY JUNIOR HIGH STUDENTS! Like the one i found on you tube and of course i watched first. Its 8 minutes long and done very well. The teacher who showed the students the inappropriate video maybe should take some classes himself on "what is appropriate and what is inappropriate for teaching junior high level children" Like come on buddy use a little common sense. i know were human and we make mistakes, so this should be your only one in regards to the children your teaching. Maybe an apology letter to the parents and to your students would show your sincerity of how "STUPID" an Adult can be.

Woooow haha that has got to be a spoof. There is no way an actual company would use that video to teacher there employees. For mature adults, thats funny as hell, and i think people can just laugh it off. But 7th graders? Really that guy must have just been too dumb anddecided not to prepare a video and just clicked on the first sexual harasment video he could find on youtube. And that ladies and gentlemen is why you dont snort white out as a child. You grow up to be a teacher that likes to show 7th grade classes videos about smelly vaginas and fat cocks..... I must admit i laughed pretty loud at the video though haha

I find that it wasnt that bad it was more imformitive than inappropiate but it did have wording that shouldnt be shown or verbilized in a school enviornment

hahaha, I want to know who made that Video, hahaha, okay so the teacher picked a shit video to show the students, but it would definitely get the message across. The Video itself almost seems like a spoof to me, it could very well be one that some user edited and or created, hence why its up on youtube. If the teacher wanted to show them a video, shouldn't he have been able to get one from a more reliable source.. say the school board? either way, no harm no foul, the kids will be fine, we've all seen videos like this in school and or at work, only the language in the ones I remember wasn't as foul, but then again, your kids in grade seven, for the naive parents out there, your kids have used the words cock and vagina before. Kids these days are completely foul mouthed and they get like that through social media, crap parents, friends, shouldn't you be worried about bigger things? like if your Parental Skills are up to par?

Seems to me there are a lot of naive people out here. By the time your kid hit's 14 he's been bombarded by millions of sexual messages, has access to PG13 movies(LEGALLY), has internet access to every single piece of media on the market (doesn't matter if mom has the fw set), not forgetting about those 'naughty' magazines almost every boy around that age has hidden under their bed. Get real your kids have seen it.

Ok, this video is clearly made to be a parody of a normal office harrassment video. The url in the right and bottom of the screen should be the first clue "www.ebaumsworld.com." I doubt the teacher intended for it to be actually educational and he probably should have saved it for grade 12 students rather than grade 7 students.

Aw come on Claussen. HE'S THE ONLY PARENT THAT COMPLAINED. Are you really that close minded. The kids today use far more offensive language than that. Don't believe me, get on a city bus after 3pm when schools out, see what I put up with. I really don't feel that this was that OMG Video that you profess it to be Claussen. But lets face it. Did it not create a classroom discussion? Did it not get the youths thinking on a different level about harassment? So did the teacher not do his job? I think he did. Also, last I checked kids were apprx. 6 years old to start grade one, add another seven and we are talking about 13 year olds. Not 11. Man people with nothing but time on their hands. GET A LIFE. By the way Claussen, good luck on that lawsuit. I would be outraged if you won. Because I won't allow a single penny of my tax dollar awarded to you. Teachers need some flexibility. Seems you want to keep your KIDS in the dark ages. Does your child even know what a condom is? Just saying.
