I kind of agree with this…
Velvet Revolver and ex-Guns N' Roses drummer Matt Sorum has blasted Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong on Twitter this week, saying that Armstrong's tirade at a radio festival last Friday (September 21st) was "punk rock," but was ruined by Armstrong's later apology for the incident.
Sorum wrote, "I thought Billy (sic) Joe Armstrongs Rant was the most punk rock thing he has ever done. Then he had to go and ruin it by apologizing. Corporate Rock is alive and well. Never really bought that band anyway."
Armstrong launched into a profanity-filled rant against the organizers of the iHeartRadio Festival during Green Day's set at the Las Vegas event, after he was informed that the band only had one minute left to play -- after their slot had already been shortened by 20 minutes.
Two days later, Green Day issued an apology, claiming that organizers Clear Channel did not cut their set, and adding that Armstrong was seeking treatment for substance abuse.
Claudia Suarez Wright, ex-wife of Green Day drummer Tre Cool, said that Armstrong had been "drinking a lot" the day of the show after being sober for a year.
Green Day's new album, Uno!, came out this past Tuesday (September 25th) and is expected to sell around 150,000 copies in its first week of release. Two more discs, Dos! and Tre!, are due out in November and January.

Three Days Grace is streaming its new album, Transit Of Venus, online in its entirety at IGN.com, just days before it arrives next Tuesday (October 2nd). The first single from the disc, "Chalk Outline," is enjoying its third week atop the Active Rock radio chart, becoming the band's eighth single to go to Number One. Frontman Adam Gontier told us that the band had no idea what to expect when they issued the song: ["It was definitely a little bit nerve-wracking, 'cause we were all in agreement that 'Chalk Outline' was gonna be the first single, but at the same time, there were songs on the record that, you know, we could have very easily probably released as the first single. But it represents the record really well, so I think we went with the right song and it's doing well, which we're fortunate for that."]
Transit Of Venus is Three Days Grace's fourth studio album and follows up 2009's Life Starts Now.
