Nickelback singer/guitarist Chad Kroeger has responded to a widely circulated photo which showed Sum 41 singer Deryck Whibley and his model girlfriend Ari Cooper going out dressed for Halloween as Kroeger and Whibley's ex-wife, Avril Lavigne, who is now Kroeger's fiance. The twist? Whibley went as Lavigne -- complete with bleached blonde wig featuring colored streaks -- while Cooper donned her own blonde wig and grubby facial hair to dress up as Kroeger.

But the Nickelback frontman may have had the last laugh, posting on Twitter, "Hey Deryck loved the costumes! We were going to dress up as you guys this year but all the parties had celebrity themes ha ha." He also challenged Whibley and Cooper to a "couples-bowling grudge match."

Kroeger and Lavigne surprised the music world this past summer by announcing their engagement, which followed six months of dating. The couple met when Kroeger began helping Lavigne with songs for her new album. The courtship was kept so quiet that very few people knew the two Canadians were actually seeing each other romantically.

This will be the first time that Kroeger walks down the aisle, and the second for Lavigne: she ended her marriage to Whibley in 2009 after three years.
