Rock 101 question and answer: Mon Jan 21 [Guns n' Roses]

I’ve heard good things about the GNR Vegas residency…

A sneak peek of GUNS N' ROSES' "Appetite For Democracy" 3D concert film — a performance clip of the classic song "Paradise City" — can be seen below. The footage was shot before a sold-out crowd live on November 21, 2012 at the Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada during the band's highly acclaimed Vegas residency, Appetite For Democracy. Each night, the band performed an electrifying show featuring a setlist created exclusively for The Joint. Appetite For Democracy spanned the band's biggest hits from their debut album "Appetite For Destruction" (1987) through their platinum-selling record "Chinese Democracy" (2008). The concerts featured the current lineup of the band, of which singer Axl Rose is the only original member.

GUNS N' ROSES drew criticism in November from Clark County commissioners after they were told about an ad for the group's Vegas concerts which depicts what appears to be a sexually assaulted woman beneath the "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign.

The image, which is said to be a watered-down version of the banned cover for the band's classic 1987 debut, "Appetite For Destruction", was being used in mainstream advertising, including newspaper promotions and taxicab placards.
