SUNCOR DRUG TESTING NIXED ... Alberta is all about oil, and the industry employs LOTS of people. Earlier this week there was a court ruling that could possibly affect someone you know. Here's what took place: Court Of Queens Bench Justice, Eric Macklin, granted a temporary injunction to prevent Suncor from starting a random drug testing program next week. The judge basically said drug testing can be an "...invasion of privacy that could cause irreparable harm to innocent employees." What about the old industry saying "Safety First"? What do YOU think? Here's the story: www.EdmontonSun.com/2012/10/12/court-injunction-granted-to-prevent-random-drug-testing

HONEST PEOPLE ROCK ... What would you do if you found a purse with $10,000 in it? I'm a firm believer in karma, and I think this Calgary woman should get a boatload of "good karma" for her selfless act earlier this week. She's a homeless woman who found 10 Grand in a purse and turned it into the cops: www.CBC.ca/news/canada/calgary/story/2012/10/11/calgary-purse-shelter-thousands.html

RED BULL STRATOS UPDATE ... Last Tuesday, an Austrian named Felix Baumgartner, was supposed to attempt a freefall from the edge of space with the Red Bull Stratos project. Because of gusty winds, the mission was delayed 'til Thursday, then was delayed AGAIN! The tentative launch is now on for TOMORROW, when Felix will try to "drop in" from a height of 36 kilomteres above the earth, and if he's successful, he'll break four world records in the process! This event has been five years in the making; freefall into all the details & technology behind this amazing stunt here: www.RedBullStratos.com

UFC FIGHT NIGHT TONIGHT ... Live tonight from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, it's UFC 153. It should be a huge night with the return of Anderson "The Spider" Silva, taking on Stephan "American Psycho" Bonnar at HSBC Arena. Most nights I don't really care about the fights, but Silva is a machine. The undercard starts at 8pm Mountain time, catch all the action at your favourite www.TheCanadianBrewhouse.com location. BASEBALL PLAYOFF TIME ... I'm not the biggest baseball fan in the land, but I do pay attention a bit more when the post-season rolls around. After being down 6-0 early last night, the St. Louis Cardinals posted an unbelievable comeback win against the Washington Nationals, 9-7, to move on to the National League Championship series against the San Francisco Giants. In the American league Championship series, it's the New York Yankees against the Detroit Tigers; go Yanks. Get the latest playoff updates here: www.MLB.com
