FESTIVE SEASON IS HERE ... Two weeks ago was Thanksgiving, Halloween is just a week away, and the Christmas season is only two months out. I don't really care for Fall, but all the parties & festivities make up for the cooler temperatures & shorter days. Tonight my friends Ian & Amie are hosting a little Oktoberfest party, and I'm very excited for this one. Here's the premise: since it's Oktoberfest, everyone must wear suspenders; I'm going with the full traditional "Lederhosen." Everyone must also bring a dozen beer, all the beers go into the Tugboat wading pool in the backyard, and it's kind of a "selve serve" beer buffet from there. I've also put together some "German Beer Drinking" music mixes for that extra special "Bavarian Beer Drinking" atmosphere!

Edmonton ESKIMOS Football … The Eskimos lost a hard fought battle, 39-19, to the B.C. Lions last night in Vancouver. There are now only two games left in the regular season: in Montreal against the Alouettes next Sunday at 11am Mountain time, and Friday November 2nd at Commonwealth Stadium, with the Calgary Stampeders in town. BASEBALL PLAYOFF TIME ... The New York Yankees are the only MLB team I've ever cheered for (other than the '92 / '93 Jays), but what I saw yesterday from the Yankees left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't know if I've ever seen a more disinterested team on the bench in a do-or-die situation; A-Rod sucks! The Detroit Tigers completed an easy sweep of the Yanks and are now on to the World Series. New York didn't even have a lead at any point in the series!
