NHL ACTION RETURNS TODAY...

...OILERS VISIT CANUCKS TOMORROW!  I hate how hockey is automatically attached to our identity as Canadians, but there's no denying our love for the game.  Sure, I'm pissed off with the greed and sheer stubbornness of the super-rich players and owners, but I like watching hockey; therefore I AM excited for the return of the NHL.  The Edmonton Oilers (a force to be reckoned with) play their first game tomorrow night in Vancouver against the Canucks.  Game time is 7pm, join the Paul Brown Show's GILLIAN FOOTE on location at The Pint off Whyte for all the action and great food & drink specials!

HEAD SHOP WINS COURT RULING - UPDATE ... PROVINCE CARRYING HUGE DEFICIT ... Not really a big surpise here, at all.  Alberta's Finance Minister, Doug Horner, announced yesterday that the province's deficit "is going to be bigger than...projected."  Apparently we had about 17 Billion Dollars in a "rainy day fund" last November (2012), and that's been whittled down to about 3 Billion dollars.  How?!  Oh right, all politicians are lairs and crooks.  Read the shame here: www.CalgarySun.com/2013/01/18/finance-minister-doug-horner-says-provinces-economic-picture-uglier-than-earlier-announced-3
