HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY ... While we're embedded in the fourth full month of Winter here in Alberta, it's the middle of Summer in Earth's southern hemisphere and in Australia, it's another full-on, beautiful-weather, blazing-wildfire kinda Summer. BIG DOCS AT SUNDANCE FILM FEST ... The Sundance Film Festival wraps up tomorrow, and a couple Rock Documentaries are getting most of the buzz this year: David Grohl's "Sound City," and "A Punk Prayer," which details the Russian band Pussy Riot, who were thrown in jail last year for protesting Vladimir Putin's return to office. NFL PLAYOFFS "WEEK OFF" ... This weekend is a rest & prep weekend in the National Football League, with the Super Bowl coming up next Sunday, February 3rd from New Orleans, Louisiana. The game should be super-entertaining with the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens battling for NFL supremacy. Kickoff is around 4:20pm Mountain time. SUPER BOWL FUN FACTS ... 1) This year's game happens to take place during Mardi Gras, so with two of America's biggest parties taking place at the same time, in the same place, it should be a little crazy; over one million people are expected in the streets of New Orleans next Sunday. 2) This will be the 10th Super Bowl held in New Orleans, tied with Miami for the most times. 3) The big game is expected to bring over 400 million dollars to the economy of the "Big Easy." 4) There will be over 6000 volunteers and 5000 media people, coincidentally there will be over 5000 pounds of hot dogs sold during the event! 5) Peopel driving to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome will pay around $200 US for parking on game day. 6) Over 100 million Americans are expected to watch the game, and over one billion will watch around the world. 7) Americans will eat over 1.2 billion chicken wings on Super Bowl Sunday!
