DAILY WARDEN TRACK: Today is the first day of Summer, and I decided to make the obvious choice when picking the feature track of the day, so I’m sharing the new single from singer / producer, CALVIN HARRIS.  His last record, “18 Months,” was huge around the world, and he has a nasty-good habit of having three or four super-catchy songs on every album.  The upcoming (still untitled) disc is on the way this Fall, but for now, let’s enjoy the “longest day of the year,” Summer Solstice!  Click the happy, sunny “play” button and soak up some delicious “SUMMER” vibes.

Topic Of The Day: WHAT’S ONE COUNTRY YOU’D NEVER, EVER WANT TO VISIT?  See the post below about North Korea “condemning” Seth Rogen & James Franco because of their upcoming film, then shoot me your answer on the official Park Warden facebook page, or text to 666 666.
NORTH KOREA CONDEMNS ROGEN & FRANCO: It seems hilarious to me that a country who loves to mock human rights and taunt the rest of the world with its military prowess would be concerned about a silly little comedy flick that ridicules them.  Apparently though, North Korea’s superiority complex is suffering a blow at the hands of an upcoming film starring Seth Rogen & James Franco, exploit the details here.  And the next time you think your life sucks, just remember, you don’t live in any of the countries on Cracked.com’s list of the “Worst Countries in the World” here!
JACK WHITE SETS VINYL SALES RECORD: I think Jack White is an absolute genius, and not just in the musical sense.  Sure, he’s a brilliant musician, but he’s also an accomplished entrepreneur, an outspoken interviewee, and now, he has an ice cream named after him!  His new album, “Lazaretto,” has set a first-week vinyl sales record, passing the previous mark set by Pearl Jam, and… Australian dessert chain, Gelato Messina, has given him a signature ice cream flavour, called “Jack N’ White.”  Scoop out the rest of the story here.
NO DRONES IN NATIONAL PARKS: In our incredibly beautiful, quiet, clean, Canadian National Parks, you know you’re guaranteed a peaceful, awe-inspiring, “back to nature” visit when you go.  In some of America’s National Parks, you won’t necessarily get the same experience, but you might encounter a government drone flying overhead as you dig into your granola during your hike.  The U.S. National Parks Service is finally trying to put a stop to that, fly over the controversy here.
FOR SPACE / SCIENCE NERDS: Apparently the testing of a new 3D printer prototype in the “micro-gravity” of outer space is a big deal.  In August it’ll be the first ever “manufacturing device” used in space, orbit the tech buzz here.
FUN, FESTIVALS, ETC.:  Improvaganza (June 18 – 28), The Works Art & Design Festival (June 19 – July 1), Beaumont Blues & Roots Festival (June 20 – 22), Edmonton International Jazz Fest (June 20 – 29), Tail Creek Mud & Music Festival (June 27 – 29), Taste Of Edmonton (July 17 – 26).
WORLD CUP WEEK TWO: Day 10 of the world’s largest sporting event is on with three matches... Argentina 1 vs. Iran 0, Germany 2 vs. Ghana 2, and Nigeria vs. Bosnia & Herzogovina.  Keep up to date with the tournament, its festivities, and the excitement through FIFA & CBC!
EDMONTON ESKIMOS: Won their pre-season road tripper against the Roughriders in Regina last night, and make their final roster cuts tomorrow.  The regular-season for the Eskies launches next Saturday, June 28, against the B.C. Lions in Vancouver.  Kickoff from B.C. Place is 4:05pm Mountain time.
FC EDMONTON: Are enjoying the month-long World Cup break.  The Eddies return to the pitch on Sunday, July 13th as they host the Ottawa Fury FC.  The action starts at 4:05pm Mountain time from Clarke Stadium.
EDMONTON PROSPECTS: Host the Swift Current Indians for a weekend series tonight & tomorrow afternoon at Telus Field.  First pitch tonight is 7:05pm, and 2:05pm tomorrow, watch the games here.
