ROB FORD SAGA CONTINUES... I've said it before and I'll say it again, I don't get any joy out of other people's misery, but I love the "entertainment value" of the on-going misadventures of Toronto Mayor, Rob Ford.  If you give a sh*t, you can read the latest here.

CAMPING SEASON HAS ARRIVED... Now that's it's outdoors season, the risk for wildfires has increased bigtime.  No matter where you're going to be this Spring & Summer, check for fire info / bans here before you go.  And if you're a smoker, please don't flick your cigarette butts out the window of your vehicle when you're driving, f*cking losers!

FINAL DAY OF THE LONG WEEKEND...Granola

PLEASE CAMP RESPONSIBLY... Ever since the snow stopped falling, the weather in Alberta has been extremely dry.  And now that's it's camping / outdoors season, the risk for wildfires has increased bigtime.  No matter where you're going to be this Spring & Summer, check for fire info / bans here before you go, and if you're a smoker DO NOT FLICK YOUR F*CKING CIGARETTE BUTTS OUT THE WINDOW, LOSER!

AND GET HOME SAFELY... This has been a terrible long weekend for crashes & fatalities on Alberta highways & especially on Edmonton streets.  At the annual "Jeeps Go Topless Day" downtown on Saturday, a woman was killed after being hit by a Jeep during a stunt, and a little boy was killed last night after an SUV plowed into a restaurant patio.  Be careful on the streets and arrive alive, I know it sounds cliched, but it's ...

CAMPING SEASON IS HERE...Nature Rocks

BUT BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU'RE OUT... Six campers got lost but were found this weekend in Kananaskis Country, read more about it here.Dirty Money

WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH $600 MILLION?  Last night's U-S Powerball Lottery jackpot was an estimated 600 million bucks!  That kind of money is unfathomable to me, and I'm sure almost every other "normal" working person.  Apparently there was one single winning ticket sold in Florida, but if there wouldn't have been a winner, the jackpot next week would have ballooned to almost One Billion Dollars!  I can't imagine going from a working stiff to a near-billionaire, what would you do with that kind of dough?  It's still not the biggest lottery jackpot in American history though, read the story here.

TORONTO'S MAYOR IN TROUBLE AGAIN... I'm not one to revel in someone else's misery, that's not what this is about.  This is about entertainnment.  Here in Edmonton we're all sick & tired of a city council that foolishly spends our money on unnecessary ventures when we need lots of infrastructure upgrades.  That's basically the only controversy we see in Edmonton politics, but we need to get those clowns out of city hall, so VOTE THIS FALL!  In Toronto, Mayor Rob Ford is in trouble again, this time for allegedly smokin' crack on video.  I'm not judging, all I'm ...

LOC'R ROOM TOPIC OF THE DAY... Today is the kickoff to the unofficial start of Summer, so I'll keep today's topic in line with that.  What's your favourite May Long Weekend tradition?

TEXT WORD OF THE DAY... "BARBECUED MEAT"  Here's why... 1. You may have heard Seanna mention yesterday that it was "National Bar-B-Q Day," and 2. With the May Long Weekend here, an animal rights group called "Mercy For Animals Canada" has started a nation-wide bus shelter ad campaign that compares pets to the animals we eat.  It sounds like the posters are pretty funny too, especially if you're a meat eater.  One of the ads features a puppy beside a piglet and the caption reads, "Why love one but eat the other?"  Uh, because meat's delicious, right?  Anyway, it'll be funny to see how much controversy, if any, this generates.  Read about the campaign here or here, and ...
