Team in Training - Post #2
One thing I would like to talk about in this blog is mental fatigue…when it comes to running sometimes the most difficult part is the monotony! There is a few things you can do to battle it:
- Change up your route- if you’re running outside change up your scenery. Try a route through the river valley or the dog parks. Do some city running and hit up Whyte ave! Change your runs from mornings to evenings or vise versa!
- Another thing which one of my favourite things to do is listen to music when I run. Its simple to change up your play list to songs that are energetic and will pump you up!
- I like to also have a cappuccino or espresso before I go running for a bit of an energy boost!
- Also throw in some treadmill runs in doors to change things up or as an easy solution to a rainy day.
Don’t forget to check out Team in Training to support Leukemia and Lymphoma and sign up for this great cause. The trainers, network of coaches and mentors that are already established through Team in Training can help you get through the monotony of a boring work out and give you more great ideas to change things up!
Hopefully that gives some ideas for you to go off of! Happy trails!
