One thing I would like to talk about in this blog is mental fatigue…when it comes to running sometimes the most difficult part is the monotony! There is a few things you can do to battle it:
- Change up your route- if you’re running outside change up your scenery. Try a route through the river valley or the dog parks. Do some city running and hit up Whyte ave! Change your runs from mornings to evenings or vise versa!
- Another thing which one of my favourite things to do is listen to music when I run. Its simple to change up your play list to songs that are energetic and will pump you up!
- I like to also have a cappuccino or espresso before I go running for a bit of an energy boost!

So far my training has been going well…I am in week 2 and have been running three times a week breaking it up with intervals…doing some hill work and long runs. For my intervals I find it best to use a treadmill because I can really control the pace and timing and see my gains. For the hills I have been hitting the stairs in the River Valley which is nice because I am outside. It’s also very important to make sure you get your long runs in so on Sundays I am up to about 90 mins and I will add 10 ...
