Monsters Are Waiting

Taking on an indie rock sound that has hints of new wave, Monsters Are Waiting feature Annalee Fery (vocals, keyboard), Eric Gardner (drums), Jonathan Siebels (guitar, bass), and Andrew Clark (bass, guitar). The Echo Park, CA, band -- whose name comes from one of their own songs -- began in Los Angeles in 2005, playing parties and clubs in the area. Those shows led to a tour with Stellastarr* and Editors. In October 2005, Monsters Are Waiting released a self-titled EP through their website and Amoeba Records, followed in July 2006 by their debut full-length, Fascination, on Retone. In November 2006, they played the CMJ Music Marathon before a national tour with She Wants Revenge and Pretty Girls Make Graves. ~ Kenyon Hopkin, All Music Guide
