Hot One

Formed in 2005 when former Shudder To Think and Mind Science Of The Mind guitarist Nathan Larson connected with Canadian singer/songwriter and bassist Emm Gryner (for whom he co-produced the 2006 album, The Summer Of High Hopes), Hot One combines the swagger and attitude of glam rock and cock rock with a strong political overtone. Bringing in Mind Science drummer Kevin March and Torontonian guitarist Jordan Kern, the band began recording songs for its self-titled debut in early 2006. The album came out in the summer of that same year on Modern Imperial, a label affiliated with the Gryner-owned Dead Daisy. ~ Marisa Brown, All Music Guide
