A five-piece from Cincinnati, The Greenhornes take the best elements of '60s R&B, blues, and British Invasion and distill it down to their own brand of Midwestern garage rock. Their original compositions consistently come across with a level of songwriting maturity which belies the fact that they're a group of barely 20-somethings. Along with The White Stripes and the Mooney Suzuki, The Greenhornes are among the vanguard in a garage/blues-rock revival which has largely emanated from the Rust Belt. The band released their debut album, Gun For You in 1999. The Greenhornes, their sophomore release, was released on Telstar in 2001. ~ Alex Zorn, All Music Guide
